Our Vision
At BRUDHI, we see digital health as the most powerful connector in healthcare. Our vision is to connect people, citizens, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers, through trustworthy, usable, and interoperable digital solutions that improve outcomes and equity. We study and build the sociotechnical rails: from European Health Data Space interoperability to secure data governance, from AI and real-world data to human-centred design and implementation at scale. New technologies bring new horizons. We explore them rigorously, translate evidence into practice, and shape policy with science. Interoperability is a foundation – not our boundary. We partner across disciplines and borders so digital health serves people first.
BRUDHI at ISCTE
BRUDHI
BRUDHI is a research group at ISCTE—University Institute of Lisbon dedicated to connecting people through digital health. We study, design, and evaluate trustworthy, interoperable, and human-centred solutions that enhance health outcomes, equity, and system resilience. Our research spans health data governance and the European Health Data Space, real-world data, standards and interoperability, evaluation and implementation science, and policy translation.
By bridging social science, clinical insight, and engineering, we move ideas from concept to adoption in collaboration with hospitals, public agencies, industry, and patient organisations across Portugal, Europe, and beyond.
ISCTE—University Institute of Lisbon is a modern, research-driven university that has evolved into a multidisciplinary institution encompassing Iscte Business School, the School of Sociology and Public Policy, the School of Technology and Architecture, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the School of Applied Digital Technologies (ISCTE—Sintra).
